At Stand Out Socks ✌️🧡🧦, we’re beyond excited for Project Empowerment! As we approach World Down Syndrome Day, we’ll be sharing incredible stories every single day from the amazing people involved.

💙💛 Project Empowerment is all about giving individuals the opportunity to kick-start their entrepreneurial journey, gain valuable skills, and boost their prospects, all while raising awareness for World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st. This initiative is a celebration of empowerment, growth, and making a real difference!

DAY 3 - STEPS Derby

We’re so proud to support STEPS Derby with a donation of 100 pairs of socks. This donation provides their members with the chance to develop new skills in handling products, understanding sales, and engaging with the public, all while raising awareness for World Down Syndrome Day.

STEPS Derby is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that supports adults with learning difficulties, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and connect with their local community. They've already done amazing fundraising efforts like car washes, cake sales, and community discos, all aimed at raising funds for activities and excursions. 🎂🚗💃

By selling Stand Out Socks, they’re not only raising awareness for World Down Syndrome Day but also giving their members a sense of achievement and purpose. The funds raised will go towards excursions and activities that their members love, helping them learn and grow through new experiences. 💙💛

We’re so excited to be part of their journey and can’t wait to see the positive impact this will create!

Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day

On March 21st, millions of people across the world will come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. To help raise awareness, people wear brightly coloured, often mismatched socks to symbolize chromosomes — shaped like socks — with people who have Down syndrome having an extra copy of chromosome 21.

It’s a fun and meaningful way to start conversations, celebrate individuality, and show support for inclusion. 🌍💙
